Salle de discussions : Non couip de Gueule ! from johnarnaud30's blog

Hello day to you,

Communication is a very difficult exercise. It is partly innate but it can be learned. Some, like radio or TV presenters, can be faced with a wall and talk to it for hours without ever stopping, except to finally go for a drink because their throats are so dry. having talked too much.

Others will be unable to say three words during the day to coworkers because they are like "that", they prefer to listen, they are unable to make coherent sentences despite all the ideas they may have.

So there are introverts, extroverts, leaders and others who listen and everyone lives together.

So, in a video chat, what can you say to someone you don't know and which camp you are on? That of the fine talkers or the discreet ones who wait for others to start writing, to speak? We should therefore not accuse anyone of their shyness, of their difficulty in communicating. Did you get on a platform to talk with a microphone to ten or twenty people seated? Believe me, it's a very difficult exercise, you must already master your subject well with a beginning, a middle, an end, speak with a clear, audible, modulated voice, use words understandable by all, add a gesture that can clarify your words etc. So, on a videochat it's exactly the same.

NaturallySuited I would add "Clear" communication is a very difficult exercise. We are all communicating something to others even by our silence. Unfortunately, silence is easily misinterpreted by the receiver.

NaturallySuited @ NancyJN. You asked: >>would you please clarify "Clear communication"?<<. Sure, I mean that communication can often be misinterpreted. The sender has a meaning in mind and communicates this to the intended receiver. The receiver then processes the words, actions, tones and other clues to arrive at an interpretation of the communication's meaning. When the sender's meaning and the receiver's interpretation align, there is "clear" communication. When there is misalignment, there are many techniques to bring alignment (e.g., reflection, clarifying questions, etc). You demonstrated one of these techniques in your comment. Hopefully, I have now clearly clarified my comment on clear communication. :-)@ NancyJN. You asked: >>would you please clarify "Clear communication"?<<.
