Tips for Publishing Photos on Just Nudism (non official)
I am posting a series of blogs (musings) on Photos posted to Just Nudism. These are based on my own observations and experiences and should not be construed as an “official” treatment of the subjects.
Basics of posting pictures on JN (First in the series Tips for Publishing Photos on Just Nudism)
First and foremost, ALL PHOTOS MUST BE APPROVED(with rare exceptions noted below). Please do not submit the same photo multiple times. It takes time for the admin’s to review and approve submissions. Contrary to popular belief, NancyJN and admin do not work 24/7 (do you?). There will very likely be delay between your post and when it is visible to other members (or yourself, even). Yes, your post “disappears” when first submitted until it is approved. When you submit a photo (or blog), there is a small icon that appears in the upper right hand of the webpage, to the right of the notification bell. It looks like a lined piece of paper and only appears when there are pending approvals. When it is there, you can click on it to see what is in the queue. As long as it is in the queue it will not appear where you posted it. I have never had a submission stay in queue more than 12 hours.
Second, assume ALL of your photos are PUBLIC
Public is defined as visible to any member of the Just Nudism community. The number of PUBLIC photos visible is limited by the viewer’s membership level. For this discussion, I use collection to refer to all pictures in a Newsfeed, Forum or Group. Free-Unverified members, can view the 2 most recent photos of a collection; Free-Verified members, can view the 5 most recent photos of a collection; Upgraded (Paid, Verified or Unverified), can view All Photos of a collection (except as I point out next). It does not appear that PUBLIC photos are indexed by outside search engines (Google, Bing, etc).
Third, you can control who sees your posted Photos.
If the photos are posted in a “My Photos” Album, you are able to control access to that album. Albums are categorized as PUBLIC by default. Other category options are Friends Only, Specific Friends Only, and Password Protected. These categories have to be explicitly selected when created or later as an Album edit. If not PUBLIC, other members will have to visit your Profile > Photos tab to see your Albums and Photos, but only members meeting the categorization are able to see the photos (i.e., Public, Friends Only, Specific Friends Only, or Password Protected).
There is another way to control access to your content on a global basis using your profile PRIVACY settings. For a variety of actions you are able to set access as Public, Friends Only, or Only Me. A full discussion is outside the scope of this blog.
Fourth, Where do your posted photos go when they are posted?
Well, as with many things in life, that depends. There are two default Albums in My Photos - Newsfeed and Cover Photos. Cover Photos are pretty clear - any photo you display as a banner at the top of your Profile Page is placed in this folder. Newsfeed includes any picture you post on the Community “What’s Happening”, your personal “My Wall” or “What’s Happening”, and Group “What’s Happening” (not Group Discussions / Group Forums). Community Newsfeed and My Newsfeed photos also appear on the Community PHOTOS tab. Photos in Group Discussions, Forum Topics, Blogs or Contests do not cross post to the Community PHOTOS. However, they are public within a Group or Forum. Since all posts in Group Discussions and Forum topics are PUBLIC readable by design, pictures you post there are also PUBLIC for any member taking time to look.
Finally, your photos can be downloaded.
Even though there is no download button, any photo visible to a member can be downloaded. This is not unique to Just Nudism but is a general maxim for the internet -- if you can see it with your browser it can be downloaded. I will not describe the method here but IYKYK. Downloaded photos will retain the Just Nudism watermark.
Summary
Many members seem to be treating Just Nudism as a photo posting platform. Hopefully these shared observations will help members understand where their photos go and make better decisions about posting. The most important takeaway is assume anyone can view your photos unless you use the suggestions in this blog. And remember, If you post something and later regret it, you can always delete any photo you post.
That’s it for this blog. Stay tuned for my next two blogs on photos: "Select (good) Photos to Post" and "Taking Better (Nude) Pictures".
Until next time, Stay Safe and Stay Nude.
